I used to work in hospitality, and my last position was as an Assistant Manager at a hotel. But then I discovered Mimo and, with it, my passion for programming. I loved it so much that I wanted to change my career completely.
The key factors for Mimo were the flexible learning path, flexible schedule (my previous job made it hard to plan), and reasonable expectations.
Mimo's course content is designed to provide the foundation and structure necessary to build a solid knowledge base at an individualized pace. Such personalized coaching also allows learners to achieve individual goals within and outside the curriculum.
Once completed, I began applying for as many jobs as possible while focusing on the areas of my knowledge. Whenever I received a (positive) rejection message, I would write back expressing my gratitude for their feedback, sometimes even asking for additional tips.
Ultimately, my will to learn and curiosity for new technologies helped me land my first role as a Full-stack Developer and Server Specialist. I work in a hybrid working environment with a maximum of 40% of the time working from home.
Mimo was instrumental in helping me transition my career to technology, which I accomplished within just a year and a half. But learning never stops. I’m now focused on learning to work with the PHP backend and the Linux server environment (setup, configuration, maintenance, etc.).
